The 2019 edition of the Andaman Hotelier & Tourism Fair will be hosted at Baan & Beyond, opposite Central Festival Phuket, from June 21 to 23, 2019. The event will open doors from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm during those three days. More than 80 booths from different hospitality suppliers can be visited to find out about the latest trends in the industry. Thanyawat Chanpinit, chaired a press conference of the Andaman Hotelier Tourism Fair 2019 at Central Festival Phuket, alongside several Phuket local authorities and Phuket hotel, hospitality and tourism associations. New Visa prepaid tourist card on the way

BANGKOK: Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), The Mall Group, and Visa – with support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) – have announced the launch of a new SCB M Visa prepaid tourist card for foreign tourists who can use it for cashless travel and shopping when in Thailand. To celebrate the launch, the first 1,000 customers who apply will receive vouchers worth THB 500 when spending THB 2,000 or more at The Mall Group’s department stores from June 1 to December 31, 2019. Off-the-beaten-track destinations in Thailand experiencing explosive Airbnb growth

PHUKET: New data released today highlights how the Airbnb community is helping grow tourism in off-the-beaten-track destinations across Thailand and the Asia Pacific, and helping spread the benefits of tourism beyond big cities and major tourism hotspots. Off-the-beaten-track destinations in Thailand grew by 53% year-on-year, with some areas like Rawai growing by more than 92% year-on-year. Airbnb hosts outside of big cities and major tourist destinations in APAC earned nearly US$1bn through the Airbnb platform in 2018. 12 million guests checked into Airbnb listings in these destinations in 2018, growing 70% year-over-year. Meet Paul Halford, new General Manager of OZO Phuket

Tourism Authority of Thailand reveals 2019 Songkran increases in tourist revenue

BANGKOK: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has revealed that tourism revenue earned from international visitor arrivals to Thailand and domestic trips during the 2019 Songkran holiday all showed year-on-year increases over the same period in 2018. TAT Governor K. Yuthasak Supasorn said that during the holiday period of April 12-16, 2019, total revenue from the international arrivals and domestic trips amounted to 22.07 billion Baht, an increase of 15 percent year-on-year. The number of international arrivals reached 543,300 (up 8% year-on-year) and generated revenue of 10.23 billion Baht (up 14%). There were 3.27 million trips by domestic tourists (up 3%) generating 11.84 billion Baht (up 7%). According to K. TAT continues “Thailand Travel Shield” insurance project

BANGKOK: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently announced the continuation of the Thailand Travel Shield insurance project to provide online travel insurance for foreign tourists. K.
