Da Moreno at Town Da Moreno at Town is the latest addition to the Da Moreno restaurants, which counts four outlets at the time of writing. Located a few steps away from the party scene of Phuket Town and the historical old town, the venue is perfect for a quick lunch, a romantic dinner, or a congregation of friends looking to celebrate. The decor is traditional Italian, with a combination of white walls and dark red elements, which made us feel inside a typical Italian trattoria in a city like Rome or Venice. The restaurant is divided into three distinct areas, with the front side hosting the dinning tables and comfortable chairs. Further [...]

PHUKET: New research by consulting group C9 Hotelworks points to Covid-19’s crippling implications for Phuket hotels with airport arrivals plunging, the Phuket Model stuttering, and 50,000 jobs expected to be lost if there are no overseas visitors this year. Phuket’s hotel industry is reaching breaking point and drastic economic support from the government is needed for it to survive the high season, urge industry leaders. In the wake of the controversial “Phuket Model” international travel reopening scheme, reality is biting back as hotels in Thailand’s leading resort island are unable to sustain operating viability based on domestic tourism. On July 17, 2020, the team of Phuketify and The Guide Phuket were invited to the grand opening of Samran Restaurant, on Soi Takuapa, in Phuket Town. Most of you should be familiar where the old Suay restaurant used to be; it has now been rebranded as Samran, and focuses on casual Isaan food served with ice cold beers (or your favorite cocktail). The selection of food was fantastic and the prices are of good value, especially considering the atmosphere of the main dining room and the lovely garden upfront. A typical dish will cost you anything from THB 90 onward, depending on your taste. While finding a parking space may be difficult, as it is with most restaurants [...]
