Le Méridien Phuket receives Gold Award from Travelife

PHUKET: Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort recently achieved a 'Gold Award Certification' from Travelife, an independent and internationally recognized accommodation sustainability program based in London that is accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. According to Travelife, the multi-awarded resort next to a secluded beach and 5 km. from Patong, "has shown evidence that they are taking action in the following areas: Minimizing their environmental impacts, improving the economic and social impacts for people in their community, respecting and protecting human rights and fair labor practices, and safeguarding animal welfare and biodiversity." Laguna Phuket Triathlon 26th edition previewed in Bangkok

PHUKET: On September 4, 2019, Asia's premier destination resort, Laguna Phuket, has hosted a press conference at Banyan Tree Bangkok for members of the press to preview its 26th annual Laguna Phuket Triathlon, coming up in November this year. The 26th edition of Asia’s longest-standing triathlon race Laguna Phuket Triathlon (LPT) in Phuket, Thailand, is scheduled to take place during November 23 to 24, 2019 at Laguna Phuket. New art exhibition, “Contrasts”, at Ramada Plaza Chao Fah hotel

PHUKET: A new art exhibition, called "Contrasts", has officially opened at the Ramada Plaza Chao Fah hotel, in Phuket Town. Two local artists are currently exhibiting their works, which stand at the opposite ends of the spectrum, hence the name. Ramada Plaza Chao Fah has now turned into an art gallery, Art @ Chao Fah, which can be found on the mezzanine floor of the lobby. Hilton Phuket celebrates Global Week of Service with extra sustainability efforts

Aquaria Phuket is now open at Central Floresta

PHUKET: An exclusive media preview was held yesterday, August 23, 2019, at Aquaria Phuket, followed by the opening ceremony led by Dato Simon Foong, Managing Director of the Aquawalk Group that owns and operates Aquaria Phuket. Bangkok Airways new lounges open at Phuket International Airport

PHUKET: Recently, Bangkok Airways has introduced its new passenger lounges at Phuket International Airport, in Mai Khao, offering comfort and convenience for Bangkok Airways’s passengers while waiting for their flights. The new lounges are located near gate number 4, on the 2nd floor of the domestic departure terminal, after the security checkpoint. Bangkok Airways is the only company in Thailand that offers lounge access to its economy passengers, a perk that can make a huge difference if you have to wait for your flight for long hours. Cocktail Critters is the bartender’s gift you’ve been waiting for

BANGKOK: A good friend of mine and mixologist extraordinaire, Mitchell 'Kai' Lum, with whom I had the pleasure to work a few years back on Surin Beach, is currently running its second Kickstarter campaign for his successful cocktail critters. Back in January this year, Kai created the first generation of critters, which are high-quality enamel pins that can be attached to your shirt, jacket or apron, born from what he is truly passionate about: cocktails and animals. The cuteness of each animal brought immediate results, with his Kickstarter campaign receiving nine times its initial goal of a thousand dollar.
