PHUKET: Marriott International’s hotels and resorts in Phuket, under their Spirit to Serve program, recently joined forces with the Scholars of Sustenance Foundation (SOS) to donate food to people in the local community.
Under this important CSR initiative, the general managers and chefs from five hotels came together with the SOS Rescue Kitchen team to prepare 600 three-course meals. These were then packed in reusable food containers at The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa Phuket and distributed to the people in the communities around Sriphuwanart Park and in Phuket Town.
This activity forms part of “Serve 360,” Marriott International’s sustainability and social impact program. Looking ahead, the company’s hotels and resorts in Phuket will continue to look after their local communities through a variety of initiatives, from outreach programs and health and safety campaigns, to environmental projects and more.
“Through Marriott International’s commitment to charitable causes, reducing single-use plastic, and partnering with volunteer organizations, hotels are doing far more than just feeding their own guests; they are helping to care for the entire community,” said Mr. Gerd Kotlorz, General Manager, Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach.
Marriott International hotels taking part in the Spirit to Serve / SOS initiative include The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa Phuket, Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach, JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort, and Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach.
