PHUKET: Grand Mercure Phuket Patong Resort & Villas has recently launched three Thai cooking class formulas that not only focus on the recipes themselves, but also on the sourcing and understanding of the ingredients.

It is time to refresh your culinary skills and enjoy an authentic Thai experience by learning how to cook local dishes, explore a unique fish market, picking up lots of delightful recipes and cooking tips along the way.

The first option allows you to explore Patong’s local market, “Baan Zaan market” and learn how to select and buy fresh ingredients before cooking them in a fully-equipped workspace at Bubbles Restaurant. This half-day package sells for THB 2,500 per person, or THB 2,000 per person when a minimum of two participants register.

Their second option will have you travel to the popular Rawai fish market, in the south of Phuket, to choose your ingredients. Lunch will be served at a beachfront restaurant, where you can taste the local food in a beautiful natural atmosphere. In the evening, you will continue your Thai cooking class at Bubbles Restaurant and enjoy your very own creation by the poolside. This full-day package retails at THB 3,700 per person, or THB 3,000 per person with a minimum of two participants.

Finally, as a third option, you can combine your full-day package with a tour of the local handcrafted rum at Chalong Bay Distillery, where you learn the process of making this fine spirit made from 100% natural sugarcane. Interested in the visit? You just need to add THB 500 per person to your full-day package.
