PHUKET: A press conference was hold today (April 19) at Blue Elephant by Phuket officials to announce the yearly colorful Baba wedding ceremony. The event gathered members of the local government and businesses which support the traditional wedding, together with many local families, all dressed up in Peranakan style. There was a demonstration of ‘Pang Tae’, which is the ceremony when the bride and groom serve tea to the parents and get blessed. The widely-known local guru, Ajarn Pranee Sakulpitak, conducted the ceremony while explaining each process to the audience. PHUKET: The Road and Marine Safety Center for Songkran Festival has kicked off on April 10 at the Provincial Hall in Phuket Town, chaired by Phuket Vice Governors, K. Prakob Wongmaneerung, K. Thanyawat Chanpinit, and K. Supot Rodruang Na Nongkai. “Songkran is a long public holiday and the roads are busier than usual, which results in an increasing number of accidents. BANGKOK: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently announced the continuation of the Thailand Travel Shield insurance project to provide online travel insurance for foreign tourists. K.
